Why Start a Spoke?
A Spoke has tremendous advantages in that the members can more effectively participate in ministry and evangelism working as a team, and the support and fellowship of Christian cyclists united in purpose is a wonderful blessing.  But, remember, individuals can be IC3 members and have great impact on the cycling community, wherever they are, and even 2 or 3 or 4 members who ride and fellowship together can enjoy some of those benefits.

IC3 and "Sea to Sea" Training Rides

Tour organizers suggest that riders train a minimum of 2000 Kilometres before beginning the tour. Peter and George have been training for the past two months and have already surpassed that training target. Although most of the fund raising activity has been within their church community there have been generous donations by others who wanted to encourage and support Peter and George realize their trip of a lifetime.

7250 Kilometres by Bicycle

Peter Faber and George Vanderkuur ( Spoke Director Ontario Spoke) are all set to cross Canada by bicycle. With more than 100 other cyclist they will begin their adventure by dipping a wheel in Vancouver’s English Bay and, 7250 kilometres later they hope to arrive on Pier 21 in Halifax.

  • Committed to Jesus Christ - personal commitment, regular personal devotions
  • Committed to local church
  • Committed to cycling at any level of interest
  • 21 years of age
  • Good employment record
  • Pastoral letter of recommendation
  • Personal view on drugs, sex, and alcohol
  • Organizational skills - ability to organize and coordinate, punctuality, neatness
  • Communication skills - ability to correspond in writing, telephone skills, ability to relate to others, non-Christian, Christian, and unfamiliar
  • Understands the need for local outreach and global missions
